once there was a woman with a bunchy silk red dress
she would drink too much and you might say she was a mess
when she met a man who was fifteen years too young
she thought she'd have a fling so right at him she flung
this album is the product of this dark and stormy tale
if one of them's ishmael then one of them's a whale
some water spots are forming up above the kitchen sink
and the cat has witnessed things that no one even wants to think
i still have a scar from when i went to get my stuff
the drummer sat and watched while she attacked me quite enough
she said she'd call the cops if i at all did defend
and he said that he thought i was strong enough to throw her off a bend
so, this music, fraught with more turmoil than you can think
is a special thing: a bite to eat, a bit to drink.

Simple Satisfaction
06:04
|
|
||
simple satisfaction
where are you attained
passing by your sihouettes in windows you are framed
gotta make the money
money i don't need
to go out and try to find the birds and the bees
i can see through you though my eyesight's bad
i got 20-20 vision when it comes to that
been in worse situations i can deal with you
when you walk around town like it's something new
nobody wants to hear
something with no heart
nobody cares
nobody cares
if you wanna run
i'll give you a head start
pack up all your fears
pack up your fears
pretty young thing you were a child once
so was i
a while ago
why can't we wonder like we did back then?
where did that feeling go?

Heroine Girl
03:14
|
|
||
i'm not discriminate to you
heroin girl
where is your world, lady,
heroin baby?
what have you made me?
sharp, stark and crazy–
heroin woman,
long dark and lazy.
come and breathe the fresh air with me
the grass is shady
your flag unfurled,
i see you daily
what have you gave me?
your thought is hazy–
heroin woman,
your ways amaze me.

Sorrow Machine
05:31
|
|||
been black to grey
to in between
i've seen more
than some have seen
i wait for rain
i run from sun
you could say i'm different
been all across
this fair city
up and down
every street
i run in place
it's how i run
you could say i'm different
and you could take the bad times
and give em to me
and i'll just grind em up
like some kinda machine
and if by some coincidence you're going somewhere
i could take you there
i'm a sorrow machine
i live on the bad dreams
sorrow machine
oh yeah,
that's me
been up and down
down and out
side to side
all around
i wait for pain
it's how i run
you could say i'm different
been all across
this wide frontier
ridden round
like paul revere
i can't quite seem
to want to be
moving through life happily
been up and down
in and out
don't know why
don't know how
i end up here
with no regrets
at least i don't have any yet

Heart Attack
03:01
|
|||
rain fallin inside my head
washing away every part of me
as you get older you just feel more dead
yeah you know more but it's too late to take it back
like a heart attack we fell in love
can't admit that we're so low
that it's almost like there's hell above
if we don't fly, we'll never know
train whistle at half past ten
found out i couldn't pay the rent
hopped on and let it roll away
let my life go on the railroad track
like a heart attack we fell in love
can't admit there's hell to pay
and you know the clouds above
pay us out every time it rains
it rains inside my head
makes me feel more dead
all i see are silhouettes
of things i should have said

Mystery
03:10
|
|||
some places i've never been
never plan to go
some people i've never seen
never plan to know
heartbreak is a mystery
both the how and the when
O baby for just one life
won't you give it a rest–
come here and kiss me again.
politicians say it's our right
some people say it's a shame
preachers say it's the holy light
some people say it's a game
love was always a mystery
both the how and the when
O baby for just one life
won't you give it a rest–
come here and kiss me again.
the hustle bustle of the daily life
they're back at it again
back and forth on the busy street
it seems so pointless to me, but then:
our behavior's a mystery
both the how and the when
O baby for just one life
won't you give it a rest–
come here and kiss me again.
kiss me again and we'll look for clues
on each other's skin
kiss away all the night time blues,
it's so good to be together again
the human body's a mystery
both the how and the when
O baby for just one life
won't you give it a rest–
come here and kiss me again.

Crucifix
03:26
|
|||
went to bed at five am
feeling dryer then lichen
it's what i want, my major haunt of life:
do what i can
if i could, i would do what i can
passing out the list of names
passing out, shut down my brain
this crowd is not a holy lot tonight
and i'm to blame:
if i could, i would just take the blame
talking to a jesus whiz
he don't know what zero is
i know well cause i'm in hell tonight
none of his business why,
and i don't want him trying to forgive
come in darkness, have a seat
maybe you'll remember me
might be blunt or too upfront for you:
don't wanna see the light
i'm happy in the night when i feel free
tell me where my freedom died
i stuck it in its holy side
in no harm is where i want to be
i crucified my mind:
oh yes i did, my mind was crucified.

I Remember You Still
01:55
|
|||
if hell is hot is heaven cold?
if silver rusts, why doesn't gold?
the lining right below the glass can suck the soul:
your fears with poor foundations and no floor or ground to stand
float before my eyes
on a blinding one dimension i can almost understand
why you're dead scared to dive
so you delve into the ocean, only place you feel alive:
the ocean of your eyes
fear her, the mirror
when you're here, you can see
me for me, oh and she
thinks she can and so does she,
but it is you: me for me
i'm gonna save you, one of these days
so we can grow young and old:
if hell is hot, is heaven cold?

Terrified
04:04
|
|||
well now i had to catch my breath when i first met you
and i been breathin less and less ever since
i made it up that you were out to get me
and that is what you said with every single hint
you got me terrified
so that i
bury my
head in my
hands cause i can't look
feel like i
lost my mind
got no spine
and you're a
very scary book
terrified
so i can't
close my eyes
when i am
layin in bed at night–
terrified!
well now i had to pinch myself when you came with me
i knew it couldn't last more than a day
i'll tell you what just magnified the mystery
was when you said you had somethin you needed to say:
you said...
you got me terrified
so that i
bury my
head in my
hands cause i can't look
feel like i
lost my mind
got no spine
and you're a
very scary book
terrified
so i can't
close my eyes
when i am
layin in bed at night–
terrified!

Grow
05:11
|
|||
summers in suburbs, youthful compost of dreams
sealed away in jars for nostalgia to keep
discover for yourself all the things you like best
in all the little tiny places that you'd never expect
i try to question what i'm here in life for
having very few answers leaves me feeling poor
wondering how far in life you get to go
is just like wondering how tall the trees will grow

Polysonic Joy:
Three Haikus
two men, one lady
and another
rocking like
your grandmother's chair
they experiment
too much for you? oh and you
think they sound too pop
they do what they want.
screw your preconceived notions
of what music is.
